Brandon Woods of Dartmouth/Brandon Woods of New Bedford Drivers - Full Time and Part Time

Essex Group Transportation is seeking experienced full time and part time drivers to provide non-emergency wheelchair and ambulatory transportation services for our affiliated facilities located in Dartmouth and New Bedford.

Driver Qualifications

• Drivers must be at least nineteen (19) years of age.

• Drivers must have a valid Massachusetts Driver’s License (or valid license from a contiguous state) and at least 3 years of driving experience, including experience driving multi-passenger vehicles.

• Drivers must furnish written references, and have effective oral communication skills in English sufficient to communicate effectively with Consumers and facilities’ staff and to perform their other job duties.

• Essex Group Transportation obtains Registry of Motor Vehicle (RMV) history reports or the equivalent, driving history report from every state in which the driver applicant resided or was a licensed motor vehicle operator during the past 7 years.

• Driver Applicants must have a clean Criminal Offender Record Information (CORI) background report to be considered for employment.

• All driver applicants are required to adhere to pre-employment drug and alcohol testing by an independent laboratory certified under the National Laboratory Certification Program (NLCP).

• DOT Physical upon hire required.

• Must be CPR and First Aid Certified.

Driver Responsibilities

• Provide professional and courteous service; maintain confidentiality

• Assist passengers entering and exiting the vehicle, provide proper securement within the vehicle, including helping to secure wheelchairs or other mobility devices, provide safe transportation to and from the origin and destination.

• Maintain company vehicles according to policy.

• Conduct daily vehicle safety checks.

• Maintain a daily log.

Experience preferred with a hydraulic lift with manual backup operational capacity and/or retractable ramp; but not required. On the job training by a certified instructor is available.
